Rodeo
After the chuck wagon dinner we headed over to the rodeo where I found this adorable cowboy hat for izzy. She loved it of course. The only way I could get her to quit screaming about "her horse" was to tell her we were going to see Wyatt and Cody (you'll recognize Wyatt from the 4th parade.) she had a great time.
jc and ashley came to visit!!!
Saturday night we went to a chuck wagon cook off. It was fun. We all went to different wagons and shared our plates with eachother.
Isabella LOVED the pony ride and was NOT ready to get off. She kept crying,"that's my horse!" as we pried her off the saddle and walked away ASAP!
We were soooo excited to see JC and Ashley! Isabella has been looking at their magnet on the frig and talking about them for about a week so she knew exactly who they were when they got here! I was surprised at how fast she attached to both of them! They were only able to stay for two days because they had to get back to close on their new house. We were looking forward to showing off the "pet" deer to JC and of course, they didn't come within 1/4 of a mile the whole time they were here. They left late last night and we woke up this am to the deer less than 10' out our front door. Doug needs to train them a little better!
pie auction
The youth group had a pie auction at church and spagetti lunch to raise money for missions. It was fun/a lot of work, and they raised a little under 4 grand! The lunch was in the gym and if you look at the big dark blue on the wall, that is the 28' rock climbing wall Doug and the kids just built in our gym...cant' wait to climb it!

Isabella's pets
the first pic is to give you a little perspective. LITERALLY I took these pics from inside our living room. You can't appreciate how tame these deer are. Isabella was yelling at them the whole time I was takeing these pics 20 feet away and Guinness was barking at 'em. The super wide one is named "oscar" by myself and izzy. mostly because it is hillarious to hear her say "oscar." we see him every day, or almost every day. we've been taking pics of his horns on a regular basis so we can see how much they grow and change. (Oscar was also featured in "Guinness makes a friend" a few days ago.)
I think the other monster might be a buck that hangs out with him a lot and his horns have just really grown in the last week...I'm not sure, I didn't recognize him. (possibly the buck on "yowsa" entry in front of the blue house.) He is limping really badly and if he doesn't watch it, he might just get thinned from the herd by Mr douglas. It would be REALLY easy to hit him, I would think if Isabella called him from our kitchen window. Doug could aim and the deed would be done in seconds. How hard can a five yard shot be? Not sure how much our buddist neighbors would like that one. Doug said he's a young deer and it would be a shame for him to have to be put down. Maybe his leg will heal...he can't walk on it though. Hey, I have an idea!!! We'll take name ideas for the new guy! And the winner gets....three free nights stay in our attic, hey, it's that or the kitchen floor and truely, you'd be more comfortable in the attic.
We've had a lot of new bucks the last few days. Saturday I spooked 4 bucks in our front yard and they definately spooked me. They looked at me and watched until izzy and I got into the car then walked up to the apple tree and finished eatting. (If you want to see the horns up close, just click on the pic.)

Mother daughter time
yesterday izzy kept telling me, "it's hot....it's really hot." So I decided to have a little mother daughter afternoon. we were gonna make lots of memories. I dug out a swimming suit that actually fit her, we went and bought her a tube and were gonna spend a few hours floating down the little river in town. We got all lubed up with sunscreen and after at least an hour of build up asking if she wanted to go swim, she was really excited and ready to go, "right now." We get there, I hide the keys, etc, walk over to the river and it all went down hill. "I no Bella water" was all she cried for the next hour. After all that effort, I was determined to do the little kiddie float because I'd gotten myself excited about it, and dug out my own swimming suit that only sees daylight about once a year. Anyway, after three short trips down the little river and about a hundred, "I no bella water." I gave in. I told her we could float down the river or go home and go "night-night." Guess what she chose...when they start crying, "I night-night" over and over, you just pack up and go home...and that is exactly what we did. maybe next time she'll like it. she did look cute though, tears and all.

izzy goes tubeing
actually, the winger kiddos went tubeing and izzy watched. we have seen kids tubeing on this little river just outside of town but had never been...it was pretty neat! Hopefully izzy will play next time.
The wingers went to durango for a few days so we got to spend some time hanging out with them. They went to silverton on the train so we went up and walked around a little...good to see them...the kids have REALLY gotten big!
